Agriculture is a predominant sector in Teso that greatly contributes to livelihood to the people of Teso. The government is firmly committed to ensuring equitable development for alleviating poverty. For the Teso region, agricultural development is considered a major driver for faster growth. Promoting agricultural growth in the region therefore requires appropriate policies and plans ranging from adoption of new technologies and extension services to providing credit and support to farmers. SOCADICO has therefore spearheaded and facilitated the development of a comprehensive master plan for agriculturaldevelopment in the Teso region. The plan has been prepared in consultation with various stakeholders afterextensive discussions at different levels.
